We’ve seen Wooley as much as any player in the country over the past year and think we have a pretty good feel for his tools and skills. Wooley is a lean 6-1, 175 lbs but carries surprising strength in his wrists. Wooley only ran 7.02 in Fort Myers but we’ve seen him run MLB average many times before and he’s one of the better and more aggressive base runners around. Wooley’s a streaky hitter whose strength is attacking the ball out over the plate and driving it hard to the middle and right side of the field. He hit a rocket triple deep to right centerfield in Fort Myers and this is his signature hit; he might have a half dozen of those in PG/WWBA events this year. He’ll need to learn how to adjust better to inside heat at the next level. Wooley is very capable in center or left field on defense but his arm strength is a bit limited for right field. He’s a solid student who should perform very well at the next level.
