Pacific Coast Champ. Notes: Day 4

Joey Cohen
Ando Butner (‘25, Calif). Took in a couple Admirals games this tourney and Butner stood out with the bat and with his athleticism. He currently stands at 5-foot-10, 175 pounds where there is present strength throughout the frame. At the plate, he stands in a taller stance and lets his forward move bring him down into a more athletic hitting position where there is some vertical head movement. The hands stay neutral throughout and then work with noticeable hand speed through the zone delivering a direct barrel that flashed decent power in-game. The path is steep at times but when he catches it out front it yields good impact and results. He also flashed some speed on the base paths where he was consistently quick out the box and also stole seven bags throughout the tourney. Butner definitely got on my radar as an uncommitted player to follow the rest of the summer.
