Sean Gamble, the No.2-ranked player in the class of 2025, is a quick shortstop who has the tools to continue in the middle infield at the next level. Ranked as the No.1 shortstop in the country, Gamble’s arm flashed a 89 mph infield velo and a 93 mph outfield velo at the Jr. National Showcase on Monday.

“I'm just trying to show off the love of the game that I have,” Gamble said. “I'm just going to compete and have fun. If I hit a double, if I hit a bomb, if I make a good play it all happens, but like I said before, I'm just having fun.”

This week, top players from around the country have been going head-to-head at the East Cobb Baseball Complex at the Jr. National Showcase. Throughout the week players have been run through individual workouts and competitive games to showcase their best tools.

“It's been a great week so far,” Gamble said yesterday. “Getting the invite first and foremost has been a huge blessing. Playing around the best kids in the country is always fun. You always get to compete and see where you're at.”

Gamble is not new to Perfect Game's scouting events. In 2020 he was invited, alongside other top players, to the 13u Select Festival and was invited again in 2021 to the 14u Select Festival.

“Those events have been huge breakthroughs in my career,” Gamble said. “Like I said before, playing against the top players in the country can only make you better. Those two events were so much fun and it put me on the path for something like this.”

Select Festivals have been designed to spotlight the future of baseball and allow top young players national exposure they need to take their game to the next level.

Gamble has posted some notable offensive stats batting .407 in the 2022 season proving to be a powerhouse at the plate.

Despite being from Des Moines, Iowa, Gamble attends and plays baseball at IMG Academy alongside Dean Moss and Joshua Campbell, other Jr. National participants.

“That program sets people up for life after baseball and life during baseball. Everyday I'm training, everyday I'm working really hard around the best coaches in the world. You know it sets me up for my future in this game and I'm super thankful to be able to be there around those coaches and players because it's the place to be for growth and maturity in this game.”

IMG’s coaches with experienced backgrounds focus on challenging and developing their players so they can succeed at the next level.

Although uncommitted, when asked about the recruiting process Gamble said, “It's been a journey with the recruiting process and finding the best place for me right now is what I'm doing. When I can talk to coaches again I will form my list of official visits and I'll make my decision off of that.”

Gamble and the USA Prime National 16u will be back at East Cobb on July 6 for the 16U WWBA National Championship where they will face top teams from around the country.
