Ben Schulman (2026, Chappaqua, N.Y.) caught my eye with his frame and nice delivery on the mound as he started for the Dirtbags National. I was even more intrigued when I saw that he is a rising freshman and at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, he has a lot of time to develop and add overall physicality. He stays tall over the rubber, separates his hands high across the chest and uses a shallow arm path to create his arm speed. He really works well through his front side and gets good extension at release. We saw his fastball sit in the low-80s, peaking at 84 mph and he located it consistently on the glove side. He also spun a tight breaker in the mid-70s to keep hitters off the heater. The uncommitted Schulman went 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, zero runs, 3 walks and collected 3 strikeouts.
