Mid-Atlantic Super Qualifier Scout Notes

With the weather warming up and things getting started in the Northeast, some talented prospects descended on South Jersey this weekend to participate in the Mid-Atlantic Spring Super Qualifier. East Coast Ghost Mocha took home the 13U crown, as they navigated through some tough opponents before defeating an extremely talented GRIT 13U squad 3-1 in the finals.
 
The 14U event ultimately ended with co-champions being crowned, as MA Show Select and All Out 14U Scout Thorp shared the title. The two teams battled until the game was called due to weather, as each team navigated through the other teams to secure a spot in the championship game. There were many standout performers across the two day event and we have highlighted some of them below.





Blake Lamattina (2026, Chesterfield, Va.) got the start for GRIT 13U Black in their championship matchup with a talented East Coast Ghost Mocha squad and the young right-hander impressed over four innings of work. The 2026 grad ran his fastball up to 79 mph throughout his outing, sat in the mid-70s for the duration and filled up the strike zone effortlessly. He repeats his delivery extremely well, works from a loose three-quarters arm slot and shows plenty of present arm speed. He has the ability to land his breaking ball for strikes, which is a high spin offering with two-plane tilt to it and promising bat-missing traits. He held a tough lineup to just two runs and punched out four hitters along the way and has a ton of upside remaining. He also showed off two-way ability with plenty of athleticism and barrel skills at the plate. He hit .500 (6-for-12) over the weekend, drove in six runs and flashed some power potential. He will certainly a name to continue monitoring, as he physically matures and gains more experience.
