Fall National Champ. Scout Notes: Day 1

To start the morning off in the first time slot of the PG Fall National Championships at the Goodyear Complex a handful of scouts made their way over to Field 4 to see Hunter Hargett (2021, San Diego, Calif.) get the start for Dykstra Baseball. The right-hander is a tall and athletic 6-foot-2, 180 pounds with a good fastball and a good slider as well. He pitches from a stretch-only delivery with a fastball that reached 91 mph thrice and a slider that flashes sharp and short shape to it. Hargett’s arm gets long in the back but gets extended while out in front at release. He uses his whole body into his release and can get off sync with mechanics at times. When out in front and on time with his arm, the fastball, slider combination is sound and can get hitters out at an efficient rate. The commit to San Diego State is an interesting follow for MLB scouts on the west coast.
