Brennan Bomar is a 2024 SS/RHP, OF with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Bartlett, TN who attends Briarcrest Christian. Recorded a 7.42 second 60-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a medium build and slender frame. Good hands working through the ball at shortstop with a solid gather out front to a mid-body exchange. Throws across the diamond at 78 mph with a quick arm from a young developing frame. Accurate throws from different arm slots as he moved around laterally with a quick first step. Athletic actions at shortstop with added size and strength a priority for huge gains on the defensive side with present fundamentals up the middle. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a direct line to the plate with a side-step and coiled leg lift to high waist. Athletic delivery that he gets over the front side and down the slope with a longer arm swing behind to a 3/4 arm slot. Timing of arm swing and coiled leg lift are key to keeping a direct line down the slope for full extension and a repeatable release point. Three-pitch mix with fastball up to 76 mph, curveball around 67 mph and a changeup at 70 mph. Athleticism from shortstop translates to the mound as he develops the feel for his repeatable delivery and pitch mix. Right-handed hitter in the box with a slightly open stance and toe tap trigger to even stride. Creates separation of the hands during load and showed he could spray the ball to all fields. Impact is to the pull side when rhythm and timing are in sequence with future impact from young frame as he develops. Solid athletic moves on both sides of the ball with maturity and growth being a key to his future success with present fundamental skills.
Excellent Student.
