Leonardo Albornoz is a 2024 RHP/1B with a 6-0 220 lb. frame from Kissimme, FL who attends Sunshine State Elite Academy. An extra large frame with a bigger build. Ran a 8.21 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher who had a very quick arm through release from a lower three-quarters arm slot. He had repeatable mechanics working down the slope. He commanded the zone with the fastball up to 87 mph, holding the low- to mid-80s. He had a good feel to spin, showing a slider with a ton of horizontal break to it. the pitch spun up to 2,357 RPMs, and he was able to cause some uncomfortable swings from the opposition. Good hard & late bite to the slider. Threw a ton of strikes and was exceptional in his outing on the mound. A right-handed hitter who has a wider base and starts with a spread and open setup. He was long through the zone with hard swings and some impact pull-side being able to get some juice off the barrel during his round of BP swings. Gears up with his load and then drives hard through the zone for loud impacts. Produced an 88 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Also worked out as a first baseman. Threw from a higher slot across the infield with a 81 mph throws. Good arm speed through release.
