Gavin Donohue is a 2022 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Melrose, MA who attends Melrose. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.25 seconds. Loads deep into back hip at the plate and glides through leg lift trigger, quickness to hands with overall quick stroke, hands stay inside the ball, good contact skills, contact will continue improving as he gets stronger, solid hitting tools. Worked out in the infield, fields out front, hands work well, hand actions overall stand out, some fluidity to footwork, several elongated strides into release, clocked up to 80 mph. Also pitched, rocker step back with higher take-back to stroke, crossfire stride downhill, fastball worked 73-77 mph with angle, sweeper curveball across the zone. Very good student.
