Jacob Lopresto is a 2021 C/RHP/3B with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Strake Jesuit College Prep. Large frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground towards the bag with smooth paced footwork. Loose glove circle while working through exchange and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Throws generated occasional on line carry to the bag topping at 71 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.19. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and reaching front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Inside hand path to baseball with a loose, linear barrel plane. Displayed developing feel for the barrel while looking to work the ball to the middle of the field on a line. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Clean arm circle at separation and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated some downhill plane through the zone in the low to mid 70's, topped at 75 miles per hour. Slow arm speed slightly with a breaking ball offering that generated loose spin with occasional depth in the low 60's. Primarily looked to challenge hitters to the bottom of the zone. Excellent student as well.
