Joey Hurth is a 2020 RHP/3B/OF with a 6-2 182 lb. frame from Hopkins, MN who attends Hopkins HS. Projectable athletic body, has some present strength with plenty of room for more. High leg lift delivery with some lean back towards second base, stays balanced and directional well, compact arm action that hides the ball effectively, over the top arm slot with good extension out front. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, gets good cutting action at times, commands fastball well and is around the zone with it. Maintains arm speed well on both his curveball and change up, curveball has some 11/5 depth and good spin, change up has slight fading action with good feel for the strike zone. Right handed hitter, hits from an upright slightly open stance with some shift into contact, swings hard with a short swing and solid middle of the field contact, line drive approach. Good young athlete who should continue to improve in all areas, potential two-way prospect. Excellent student.
