Jordan Thompson is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Helix. Slender live bodied athletic build, can get stronger but not the kind of frame that will hold lots of bulk. Two-way prospect. 6.70 runner with smooth and polished middle infield actions, has quick hands and feet and has advanced athletic balance defensively, arm strength continues to improve as his strength does. Right handed hitter, has a good shift into contact with plenty of lower half torque, has impressive raw bat speed for his build and can drive the ball to the pull side with carry and jump. Also pitches, upper half rotational delivery with plenty of energy and a mid-3/4's arm slot, lands open out front, will vary his delivery and pace from pitch to pitch for added deception. Fastball up to 93 mph with heavy sinking life at times. Slurve type breaking ball with some depth, flashed a change up. Highly athletic delivery with variables on top of variables but threw consistent strikes. Keeps improving and is a good bet to keep improving still. Verbal commitment to Louisiana State. Named to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
