Sykora Smith is a 5'8, class of 2023, SS/RHP, MIF, UT from Park City, KS who attends Valley Center HS. Sykora is a gifted player. Her skills are advanced and she is an unquestioned college ready talent. A two-way player, she will impact a collegiate program in the circle, on the dirt as an IF, and especially at the plate. She really doesn't have a primary position as she is as equally talented pitching or playing the IF. As an IF, here actions are smooth, easy, and very consistent. Her plus footwork allows her to position quickly. Her glovework is advanced and she transitions to an arm that throws the ball across the diamond at 54-mph. Her throws are firm, hold their plane, and are always accurate. Solid prospect on the dirt! The RHP is a certain power pitcher who works off her well-commanded 58-mph fastball that she works to both edges of the plate. Her change-up is highly deceptive and pairs well with her FB. The CH tunnels from the FB release point and shows tumble at plate. Her drop is a plus pitch. It shows heavy bite, tight spin, and big depth, especially late. Sykora's rise ball is a short, quick, late hopper that plays well off of her other three pitches that all have down action. Where Sykora will separate herself from a lot of her peers is in and with her ability to swing the bat. And she can flat out swing the bat! Although this RHH will probably not be asked to bunt much, if at all, she can handle the short game. She has a balanced stance at the ready and an easy load. She incorporates a solid lower half into her operation and creates a lot of torque which she uses to destroy the softball. She has a routine ability to get the good part of the bat to the ball....every time! She has loud, gap-to-gap pop. The ball sounds a LOT differently coming off her bat. She has BIG upside, "leave the yard" power. Sykora is an impressive player. There is not much she can't do on a softball diamond. Talent to spare. Unlimited ceiling. Big, bright future!

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
