Matthew Ferreira is a 2012 RHP with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Deltona, FL who attends Trinity Christian Academy. Strong athletic build, mature look. Compact rotational delivery, gets turned and uses his lower 1/2 well, hides the ball, tight high 3/4's arm slot, busy front leg adds deception. Upper 80's fastball, topped at 89 mph, mostly straight. Nice change up, big early running action, maintains arm speed well. Tends to lower elbow/release on curveball, some downer depth, needs to keep release point up. Around the plate with all pitches, fine tuning command. Improvement of breaking ball key. Signed with Florida International.
